Gorgeous mountain views. Small-town vibe. Big city access. You name it, Erie, Colorado has it. If you are looking for a hometown that’s an easy commute to Denver, Boulder and DIA airport, Erie is the best spot. Consistently topping “Best Places to Live,” “Best Places to Raise a Family” and “Safest Places to Live” lists year after year, Erie is one of the fastest growing towns in the Denver/Boulder area. And, once you visit, you’ll see why.
Since Erie is situated between Denver and Boulder, award winning restaurants and breweries have settled in Erie’s quaint “Old Town” area. Our family has lived here since 2013 and we love going to The Old Mine for pizza and cider while the kiddos grab ice cream for dessert next door at Sweets. Its a great place to bump into neighbors on the patio. And 24 Carrot is consistently winning Best of Boulder County awards for it’s amazing cuisine and cocktails. (Make sure you stop by for brunch…it’s spectacular.)

As a former city girl, I am surprisingly in love with this wonderful little slice of Americana. From the Homecoming and Holiday Parades through Old Town to bumping into neighbors during a summer concert in the park or at the Farmers Market, you will fall in love with this historic town. And with an average home price around $750,000, Erie might be the perfect new home town for you. Let me show you around!
Counties
Erie straddles both Weld and Boulder Counties, with County Line Road running through the middle of town. There are benefits to living in each county…Weld County usually has lower taxes and land prices. Boulder County has more conservation focused priorities. Both are wonderful in their own right…do your research and see which side of town is right for you.
School Districts
Erie is lucky to have two award-winning school districts serving its students. Most of Erie is in the St. Vrain Valley School District, including the high school that most of our local students attend. The very western edge of town is in the Boulder Valley School District but many of these students attend school in nearby Lafayette. Please keep in mind these district lines DO NOT follow the county borders. Call the district asking if your address falls within their lines.
