Superior was named for the “superior quality” of its coal and it’s history (like many towns in the area) is one rooted in coal mining. Superior sits south of Boulder and Louisville and is nestled between the Flatirons and Eldorado Canyon. The average home price is $900,000 and many people choose to buy a home in Superior because of it’s easy access to both Boulder to the north and Golden (plus Denver’s western suburbs like Arvada and Wheat Ridge) to the south. With 25% of it’s land committed open space, Superior also attracts outdoor enthusiasts.
